As a church planting missionary, my role as pastor of a new church is all encompassing. I love the preaching and teaching role and also enjoy the opportunities for one on one discipleship and visitation. Some of the less enjoyable aspects of this "job" include the financial record keeping, computer presentation preparation, legal and accounting records, and building/facility care.
The hardest part of my role here is that I often don't feel like I have enough time to do everything that we want to do. NOT being able to do some things is the hardest thing, and deciding what I can and can not take on is also a challenge.
As my interests mention above, I love to play most all sports. However, I have the opportunity to do so about once a year. As much as I love to play golf or tennis or basketball, it seems that time doesn't quite allow for that at this point.
Just living in Brazil can be a challenge to. From the paperwork to being here in a foreign country, to the time it takes to do simple things, to the poor quality and constant repairs of our home and car, all of these things can add pressure to the already busy schedule.
God has greatly blessed me with the privilege of working here in Brazil. It is essential that I focus on the overwhelming fact that it is NOTHING that I do and all that He does.
Pray with us as we seek to be used of Him.
